Join the Emerging Museum Professionals (EMPs) monthly meeting to network and learn with your fellow EMPs.
EMPs are any museum professional in the first ten years of their museum career, so if you are in your first ten years, please join us!
The meetings are free. When you register, you will be registered for all of the meetings, but are not required to attend them all and you can cancel your registration at any time.
All topics are subject to change, but below is out tentative schedule:
February 4 - Reintroduce ourselves, talk about our personal goals for the year, see if anyone is interested in being Skillshare presenters, discuss the EMP meeting schedule, and network!
March 4 - How are you planning for reopening considering COVID is back in our lives. What are your museums' plans for the tourist season? Any awesome events or exhibits?
April 1 - Tentatively scheduled as a networking event, but we might ask a speaker to join us. February's meeting will help us decide.
May 6 - Let's talk mentorships! We hope to have a basic mentorship program template ready for discussion. We'd love fellow EMP's thoughts on the plan and what else they'd like to see from a mentorship program.
June 3 - Emergency Preparedness discussion
July 1 - Skillshare - Collection Photography for Small Museums with Ashley Bivin
August 5 - Skillshare - Archives 101 with Heather McClain and Chloe Nielsen
September 2 - Skillshare -Online Exhibits with Dylainie Nathlich
October 7 - Touch base about the conference, the summer and tourist season, and anything else we want to talk about.
November 4 - Let's talk about what we'd like to see in EMP meetings going forward!
December 2 - Social event with games to relax and network!
